The digestive system is made up of the digestive
tract a series of hollow organs joined to a long tube from the mouth to the
anus. Organs that are made of digestive system are the mouth, esophagus,
stomach, small intestine, large intestine,. In the mouth, stomach, small,
intestine, the mucosa contains tiny glands that produce juices to help digest
food when needed. The digestive tract can also contains a layer of smooth
muscle that helps break down food and move them along the tract.
Being chewed and swallowed, the food
enters the esophagus. After it has gone down the esophagus. It makes it way to
the stomach. The stomach is larger sack like organ that clums the food and the
bathes it in a very strong acid. The food in the stomach then is partly
digested with stomach acid is calles chyme.
After being in the stomach, food enters
the duodenum, the first part of the small intestine. It then enters the jejunum
and the ileum, the final part of small intestine. Then solid waste is then
stored in the rectum until it is excreted by the anus.
